Okay, so I'm giving this blogging stuff a shot for a couple reasons...
(1) A lot of people in my life know that struggles that my husband and I have been going through for the last four years! Four years ago, I was diagnosed with PCOS which has unfortunately led to it being VERY difficult for us to start a family!! The year of the diagnosis was of course the hardest, which was only made worse by all of the treatments, etc. that we went through. Eight cycles of Clomid turned me into a crazy person who one minute would be happy and the next felt as if she could strangle anyone who even looked her way, and to make things worse I was constantly having hot flashes like I was a menopausal woman sitting on a beach in 100*+ temperatures!! Two cycles of FSH injections followed... one natural, one IUI and as you can probably conclude, none of the fore-mentioned events led to a baby - not even a pregnancy!! All of that happened within a year, the year of my diagnosis, the second year of our marriage... for the first time in my life I was mad at God!! I feel like I have grown up a lot since then, and my husband and I have definitely grown closer through all of these struggles... we know that God is in control so we are living our lives and waiting on God, which leads to the second reason for this blog...
(2) Being that we don't have children yet my husband and I like to take road trips... little adventures!! Well this Spring we are going to be going on a BIG adventure!! We are going to Alaska... the Last Fontier!!
Whenever we tell someone where we are going we get the question "Are you taking a cruise?" You may think we are crazy, but NO we are not taking a cruise!! We booked a flight, rented a car and booked a hotel in three different cities!! The goal of the trip is to see as much of the state as possible in 7 days (without having to get on a bush plane)!! Animals are the main thing on my list... the list includes bears, moose, caribou, musk ox, mountain goats, eagles, otters, sea lions, puffins and whales!! As our trip is getting closer we have started searching for restaurants to eat at, we made a deal that we will not eat anywhere out there that we could eat here so the process has been, search for suggestions, find the restaurant's menu online and check it out. If there is something on the menu that makes our mouth's water it goes on the list... if we aren't impressed, we aren't going to waste the time/money on giving the restaurant a try!!
So we leave in just under three weeks... check back so see how the packing/preparing process is going... and definitely come back during our trip to see what adventures we have found, what delicious food we ate, and what animals we found day-to-day!! :)
