On April 23, 2011 I posted on this very blog that we would be going back to Alaska... we wavered around about what month we would be going for but we (obviously) settled on August 2012!! We will be "leaving on a jet plane" in about 15 hours... Destination = Anchorage, Alaska!!
I've had multiple requests to do the blog again so here I am! I know that we will be able to blog each night for the first few nights while we are in Anchorage but once we arrive in Homer I'm not sure what the internet capabilities will be - but that's okay - I'd trade those mountains for the internet any day!! If we don't have service I'll update later!!
We have lots of REALLY exciting things planned for this trip... everything from zip lining to Halibut fishing and just enjoying the beauty of the Mountains and surrounding coast line!! And of course - the FOOD!! :)
We are looking forward to seeing the change in the landscape from April to August - seeing the Bears (since they were asleep last time), moosekeses with their HUGE antlers and all of the momma animals with their growing babies!!
We are packed and ready to go!! We appreciate your prayers for safe travels - we'll be flying out of DC with a layover in Seattle before we arrive back in our home away from home sometime tomorrow afternoon!!
