Just 10 miles down the road is a little gem that we discovered last year - the Eagle Rive Nature Center. Oliver loves riding on my back in the Ergo but there was too much to see/explore so he ended up walking and running down most of the trails. The temperatures couldn't be any better - they are in the 40's/50's during the day which we love. The weather in the morning was partly cloudy which meant bright sunshine with clouds hanging around the tops of the mountains. Walking these paths was amazing... we went much farther down the trails than we did last year so we got into some think Birch (my favorite tree) forest in some areas.
The snow capped mountain at the end of the valley - this was taken from our deck.
THESE COLORS!!
This is a picture that I have dreamed for years about taking and it will be the inspiration for our yard when we start planting things.
We brought Oliver to the Cotton Wood tree - he wouldn't go in it but close enough.
When we decided to head back to the truck Oliver decided he wanted to ride on my back - our course at that time we were walking uphill for the majority of the time. Whew... an extra 30lbs while walking uphill was quite the challenge but our little guy must have enjoyed the ride because he passed out...
After leaving the Nature Center we headed home to get our little guy down for a late nap and with the intention of going out for a bit after he woke up. FIVE hours later we had a hard time waking him up - that little guy was WORN OUT! So we took advantage of this beautiful home and just enjoyed time together - I grilled steaks for dinner (in hopes of attracting a bear) and we cuddled on the couch until bed time!
We don't know that we will ever stay in a hotel again - especially with Oliver. Having a home to come back to and relax at has been amazing. We are a short drive very everything that we could want to do and this house is stocked with everything that we could ever need!
Goodnight all! Tomorrow is going to be a very fun day!!
